Congratulations to Dr. Dikla Yogev, who successfully defended her thesis, “Religion and Police Legitimacy: the Case of Israel’s Haredi Community” on June 10, 2022. Dr. Yogev’s dissertation is the first study of relations between the police and the ultra-Orthodox Jewish community of Israel. Her findings should interest scholars of policing, Orthodox Judaism, and deeply religious “enclave communities” around the world. In 2022-2023, Dr. Yogev will be taking up a postdoctoral fellowship with the University of Toronto Centre for Jewish Studies.
