The CrimSL community would like to congratulate Dr. Erick Laming on the successful defence of his dissertation entitled "Police Use of Force: Understanding its Impact on Indigenous and Black Communities in Ontario." Dr. Laming’s defence took place on May 18, 2022 and his thesis passed “As Is.” Professor Scot Wortley, Dr. Laming’s supervisor, would like to thank the members of the examining committee – Professor Temitope Oriola (External Examiner – University of Alberta), Professor Ayobami Laniyonu (Internal-External), Professor Beatrice Jauregui (Committee Member), Professor Akwasi Owusu-Bempah (Committee Member), and Dr. Izumi Sakamoto (Defence Chair) – for all of their hard work.
